These lots look over a valley down to this gorgeous waterfall. We decided we'd try to find our way down to it when we saw a local family walking that way. We asked if they knew the way and they just happened to be going there themselves and led the way.</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7355705730341135365-2006475917269238461?l=travel-destination-hawaii.blogspot.com'/></div>Wtravelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08908916520980280936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7355705730341135365.post-7630288600964232362008-11-30T01:33:00.003-08:002008-11-30T01:33:14.274-08:00Waimea Canyon, Kauai, Hawaii<div style="text-align: center; padding: 3px;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sparkyleigh/236181393/" title="photo sharing"><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/95/236181393_85b783e312.jpg" style="border: solid 2px #000000;" alt="" /></a><br /><span style="font-size: 0.8em; margin-top: 0px;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/sparkyleigh/236181393/">Waimea Canyon, Kauai, Hawaii</a>, originally uploaded by <a href="http://www.flickr.com/people/sparkyleigh/">SparkyLeigh</a>.</span></div><p><br />Waimea Canyon, Kauai, Hawaii : The four-million years of erosion on Kauai have etched out the lava into a spectacular canyon in the middle of the southwest side of the island. A large percentage of the North Pacific Humpback whales migrate to the main Hawaiian islands during the winter months, November through May, each year. The round-trip distance they travel during this annual migration is approximately 6,000 miles, one of the longest migration distances of any animal species. During their stay in Hawaii, they do not feed, but rely upon stored energy. Near the islands, the whales devote most of their time to mating and giving birth to their calves.</p><div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/7355705730341135365-7994002186931862758?l=travel-destination-hawaii.blogspot.com'/></div>Wtravelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08908916520980280936noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7355705730341135365.post-55700187761481842562008-11-30T01:32:00.005-08:002008-11-30T01:32:18.714-08:00Mauna Kea covered in snow, Hawaii<div style="text-align: center; padding: 3px;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/scottkoka/524740321/" title="photo sharing"><img src="http://farm1.static.flickr.com/196/524740321_3ec55e3b79.jpg" style="border: solid 2px #000000;" alt="" /></a><br /><span style="font-size: 0.8em; margin-top: 0px;"><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/scottkoka/524740321/">Mauna Kea covered in snow, Hawaii</a>, originally uploaded by <a href="http://www.flickr.com/people/scottkoka/">konakoka</a>.</span></div><p><br />Mauna Kea covered in snow, Hawaii Island of Hawaii, North Kona, Hualalai area. 13,796ft elev.
